Fortunately, it’s told with enough emotion and charm to keep you interested in seeing it through. This premise is a familiar one, and although I Am Setsuna’s story has some surprises, it’s largely predictable. A mercenary named Endir is contracted to kill her, but since she is doomed to die anyway, he joins her guards to see her journey through. I Am Setsuna is a turn-based JRPG about a young woman named Setsuna who must travel to the Last Lands and sacrifice herself to stop the monster attacks that plague the snowbound world. Upon entering town you will have a brief conversation with the party. Something has gone very wrong with the area, and you're forced to go back to Gatherington to plan your next move. Upon exiting the area, a long conversation will trigger as you reach the Last Lands!Įxcept.you can't get to them. While in this second area, make sure to explore thoroughly so you can obtain the World Tree Staff weapon for Kir, as well as a Talisman called the Ancient Beast Eye. Be a bit more careful here, as you'll have to deal with the Fiery Puff-Puff, another in the line of self-destructing enemies. Keep climbing, and soon you'll be in the second area. There are enemies here, but more importantly, a chest containing the Alchemian Blade. Before crossing the second wooden bridge, make sure to go all the way right first. This new area is very linear, with a path that weaves back and forth across the mountain as you climb it. If you need to go to town you can but your next destination is further South, the Fridging Heights. This used to be blocked off, but by killing the boss, you've eliminated the purple barrier. ![]() You will see there is a path going West that leads back to Gatherington. ![]() Now that you are back outside, head South. The cave exit is past him though, so you will need to carefully navigate around him in order to proceed. He is a Spritnite Eaten Monster, and will one shot virtually any character at this point in the game. Also, be mindful of the black and white bear that patrols an area by himself. Make sure to poke around in this new area, as there is a Stop Spritnite inside a chest. A brief conversation will happen, then you'll be able to continue on. Head back to the Save Point, and proceed right. After the boss fight, all the purple energy barriers will disappear, giving you free access to areas that were previously out of reach.
